POSITION: Resale Administrator
SEASON: Austral Summer Oct 2021 - Feb 2022
LOCATION: McMurdo Station, Antarctica
SECTOR/DEPT: Six Mile, LLC Antarctica
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Receives all USAP property items designated for auction and lots, catalogs, and reports accordingly
Conduct all community Waste education briefings
Coordinates with USAP Property Administrator for permissions to ship property off continent
Coordinates with Palmer and South Pole Waste Management Specialist to document Resale received at those stations
Coordinates reuse of items on station between work centers
Manages daily Maximo work order stream for department
Maintains Waste Management presence on intranet
Monitors departmental email, submits timesheets, and performs other administrative tasks as needed
Coordinates lotting, photographing, and uploading to website all auction items in Port Hueneme
Operates M4K forklift as needed
Packages all Resale properly to meet regulations and/or follow best practices
Loads shipping containers with Resale items to meet regulations and/or follow best practices
Regular use of cargo straps, banding, pallet jacks, and power tools
Position requires constant physical activity, including bending, consistently lifting and carrying 50 - 70 lbs, reaching and gripping
Agrees with and adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities of the Waste department
Able to work in a team unit composed of diverse personalities
Displays self-motivation in physically challenging and atypical work environment; position is comprised of approximately 70% outdoor tasking
Able to maintain flexibility and positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced work setting
Performs duties in support of Operations Division metrics (as provided by supervisor)
Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, effected by this position's work activities
Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance, requirements and goals. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation
Works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace
Perform other duties as required
Reports to Solid Waste Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Maximo database
Organizational skills
Administrative background
Previous deployment to Antarctica
Equipment operating experience
Familiarity with power tools and machinery
Able to stand for up to 8 hours daily
Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum and perform functions requiring repetitive motion required
Must pass drug screen and background check
Valid driver's license and passport
Must deploy to Port Hueneme, CA for vessel offload after McMurdo season close
PREFERRED:
Previous auction experience
Previous Six Mile employment
EDUCATION: High school education or GED.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver's License and passport valid for six months after end of contract
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent
OTHER: US citizenship or permanent residency required
